I have an addiction
I have got a confession to make. I'm addicted to social media.
For the past month, I have found myself spending hours scrolling on social media even when I have got a lot of things to do.
I have found myself distracting from life, from mundane things, and honestly it has been frustrating.
Apart from the fact how social media makes you feel excited, happy and stressed at the same time, the more annoying thing is how I'm unable to stop myself from wasting time on it.
I know that somehow I'm seeking validation from social media and have an unhealthy habit of scrolling endlessly. I also know how it is affecting my mental health because we see people on social media living their best life, and we try to distract ourselves from the realities of our own life, when in truth no one on social media is living as a glamorous and worry free life as it might seem.
With that being said I think the first step to cure this addiction is accepting this addiction, recognizing that you have got a problem that you need to deal with, if you are reading this and you think you might be suffering from the same, this is your sign to accept your flaws, and not be embarrassed by it.
